I totally believe it… but shit, maybe I should have seen it later in life. Here are a few of the many pictures we took in the beautiful city of Napoli. We were there for the opening of our new store in Naples- The Happiness House. It’s the first one ever… it’s so exciting!!!! Eek! It has always been on my to do list and I finally checked that off running the She Runs L.A. Nike marathon last month with Michael and my sister Dee. Held at the Paramount studios in Hollywood, everyone dressed in 80′s attire- fluorescent colors, tutu’s, they got crazy with it! Melrose Avenue was shut down just for the marathon, it was pretty cool running passed my store.  I use to be a pretty good runner once upon a time.  It was my most favorite sport, along with soccer. I ran all throughout my life- since I was 5 then all the way up to high school and then BASTA! No more. Definitely was a very eye opening experience running this marathon… I thought I still had it in me. Since I was always one of those people who would never practice and come out on top. Ehh… my gosh… I was DAMAGED, DESTROYED, DEFEATED! I was in the dust of old and very large people! When they were passing me, I felt like I was running in place and going to die. F*ck… it was bad. But I’m exaggerating a little, I ran a 10k in less than an hour- goal accomplished. So, woop for that but lets just say my expectations for myself…. were a little too high. I ran a 10k in less than an hour and I should be pretty damn proud of myself! Push yourself friends… like Nike says “Just do it!” (then die) <3 E. 

E’ sempre stato nella mia lista correre una maratona. She Runs L.A. maratona di Nike lo scorso mese. Era agli studios di Paramount a Hollywood, e il look era anni 80′s con fluorescenti, tutu’s, la gente ha fatto da matti! Su Melrose avenue che era ovviamente chiusa al traffico, era molto bello correre davanti al mio negozio. Ero una runner molto forte al liceo , era il mio sport preferito insieme al calcio. Ho corso per tutta la mia vita – da quando avevo 5 anni fino a qualche anno fa e poi BASTA! Non piu’. Definitivamente e’ stato un’esperienza  che mi ha aperto gli occhi… credevo che ancora avevo la runner dentro di me. Pensavo di morire. F*ck ero distrutta, mangiavo polvere di gente molto piu’ vecchia e grassa!Quando mi passavano mi sentivo come se correvo verso la fine. La fine davvero. Le mie aspettative per me stessa erano definitivamente piu’ alte della realtà. Ci ho messo meno di 1 ora che non e’ poi cosi’ male! spingetevi al limite amici e come dice Nike ”Just do it”(then die) <3 E.

How Cinco de Mayo turns into an American holiday called Cinco de Drinko… Spent the whole day eating Mexican food, drinking margaritas by my pool with friends, and then party in the Hollywood Hills to end the night. All I can say is… fun times, man. Oh yeah… Keep Rockin’ friends. <3 E.

Come il Cinco de Mayo diventa una festa Americana che si chiama Cinco de Drinko… Passato una giornata a mangiare Mexicano, bere margaritas in piscina con gli amici. One of my favorite romance movies is Love & basketball. This post reminds me of that movie… well minus everything except for the basketball. My real life love story took place in the fashion world… between t-shirts and sketches.  Fun stuff. And unlike the movie we didn’t live next door to each other, but actually came to meet from opposite sides of the world . While I was shooting this look at the park, my dad and Michael were getting very competitive on the basketball courts. So you ask… “then who took these pix if Michael was playing?” (or most likely not asking… but I will tell you anyway.) MY LITTLE SISTER! She is only 8 years old with the camera larger than half her body but she worked that camera 10 times better than Michael ever has. True story. Ok, friends enjoy your fabulous week!

Uno dei miei fil romantici perfetti e’ Love & Basketball. Questo post mi ricorda questo film… quasi tutto tranne il basket. La mia vita nell’amore e’ iniziata nella moda.. tra t-shirt e disegni. Divertente, e al contrario del film non abitavamo uno affianco all’atro, ma in relata’ dalla parte opposta del mondo. Mentre scattavo queste foto al parco, mio babbo e Michael erano competitivi nel campo da basket. Quindi ora chiederete chi ha fatto le foto se Michael giocava?(anche se non ve lo chiedete ve lo dico lo stesso) La mia sorellina ! Ha 8 anno con la fotocamera piu’ grande di lei, e ha fatto 10 volte meglio di Michael! Davvero. Ok, buona settimana a tutti amici.

There is no discussion when it comes to the Lakers. They are the best… #1 always and forever. Growing up watching the Laker games with my dad was really the only bonding time we ever had. He’s an Egyptian guy and although our relationship has changed dramatically from then to now, “talking” was never really a thing we did.  I remember being 4 years old sitting in front of the T.V next to my dad watching Magic Johnson play in those short shorts, Kareem Abdul Jabar, Michael Jordan, all the greats. To now sitting by my husband (who has no choice but to be a Lakers fan) and our good friends watching Kobe Bryant, Pao Gasol, and Meta World Peace? I think its around this time in life- my late 20′s that I really notice that my past is almost historic.  It feels so far away now. Lately, I have been comparing my “now” Eiman to the old Eiman and I see how much I have grown since then and how so much has happened in between. The other week I passed by my old middle school and I almost couldn’t remember that period of my life. It’s a really crazy feeling. I wonder if I’m the only person who feels this way and if I sound like a total “cray cray” right about now. Ok, just stop following my blog if this is too intense because I’m letting you know I’m a pisces and I get DEEP in my ocean. <3 E.

Non c’e’ discussione quando si parla di Lakers. Sono i migliori.. #1 sempre e per sempre. Crescendo l’unico momento bello e felici con mio padre era mentre guardavamo i Lakers. Lui e’ un padre Egiziano e anche se la nostra relazione e’ cambiata tantissimo negli ultimi tempi, ”parlare” non e’ mai stata una parola familiare. Mi ricordo da piccola davanti la T.V. affianco a mio babbo e guardavamo Magic Johonson che giocava con i pantaloncino cortissimi, Kareem Abdul Jabar, Michael Jordan tutti i grandi.  Ad oggi seduta con mio marito (che e’ obbligato a tifare Lakers) ed i nostri amici guardando Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol e Metta World Peace? E’ ora che noto che il mio passato e’ diventato quasi storia. Sembra cosi’ lontano. In questo periodo nella mia vita comparo la Eiman di ”oggi” e la vecchia Eiman, e ho notato quanto sono cresciuta e quanto e’ successo nel frattempo. L’altro giorno sono passata davanti la mia scuola media e non riuscivo a ricordarmi quel periodo della mia vita. Era un sensazione incredibile. Sono l’unica che a volte si sente cosi’ oppure siete anche voi un po’ matti? Ok, smettete di seguire il mio blog se e’ troppo intenso perche’ sono un segno pesci e nuoto a fondo nel mio Oceano! <3 E.

 

Last night as I was watching the news, a live interruption came on from our president Obama who was speaking from Afghanistan.  To my surprise a peace pact was made between the U.S and Afghanistan! Finally, some beautiful news to my ears.  Imagine if everyone was at peace with each other. Imagine you didn’t have one person in your life that you did not like. Imagine a world without hate. Sounds heavenly… but not so far fetched since we are the ones who have the capabilities to change the world.  Make it happen… start with yourself and affect your surroundings with peace and love. <3 E. 

Ieri sera guardando le news, Obama in diretta dall’Afghanistan ha fatto un discorso. A mia sorpresa un patto di pace e’ stato firmato tra U.S. e Afghanistan ! Finalmente, qualche bella notizia nelle mie orecchie. Immaginate se tutti fossero in pace, immaginate una vita senza nessuna persona che non vi piace.  Immaginate un mondo senza odio. Sembra fantastico… ma credo che nessuno lo voglia visto che siamo noi a decidere. Rendiamolo vero.. iniziamo da noi stessi e di conseguenza influenzando gli altri con pace e amore.<3 E.

Thank you to all the wonderful people who came out to support the launch of the Eiman Hamza collection at Fred Segal Santa Monica last Saturday.  It was such a great time and I’m beyond happy with the successful outcome!  I have to admit, having my own collection has been an extremely stressful journey but when Saturday came around everything felt worth while.  Sometimes I just have to realize how to enjoy the ride instead of getting too caught up in the stress.  I forget that I’m young, I’m doing exactly what I have dreamed of doing, and I should LIVE IT UP! So friends, take it easy, enjoy it, and appreciate the outcome. <3 E.

Grazie a tutti fantastici per essere venuti al lancio della collezione Eiman Hamza a Fred Segal Santa Monica lo scorso sabato. E’ stato bellissimo e un gran successo! Devo ammettere, avere la mia collezione non e’ facile perche’ c’e’ tanta pressione, ma tutto e’ andato bene. Qualche volta devo pensare a divertirmi anziché’ preoccuparmi per ogni problema! Mi dimentico che sono giovane. E sto facendo tutto quello che sognavo di fare, e ora devo continuare a viverlo! Quindi amici, state positivi, divertitevi e apprezzate i risultati. <3 E.

 

Last night was my very close friend Tashah’s launch party for her new candle line, Candlessentials.  The event took place in Hollywood at The Churchill.  There was a very positive vibe, good music was playing, and amazing scents filled the air, naturally from the candles- not the people.   It’s been some time now that she has been talking about launching this business and after an endless amount of research and hard work she has made it happen! I’m so very proud of her accomplishment. I hope this inspires all of you to get what you want.  With a little hard work, drive, and dedication we are capable of doing anything we set our minds to. We only live once and there should be nothing to hold us back from going after what we want in life.  Get it! Ciao friends… aaah speaking of launch parties mine is tomorrow!!!
