Too Much!!!

There is so much going on lately. Since we have been back things have been real crazy around the factory. We are preparing for our first ever fashion show that is coming up September 25th, going on during Women’s Fashion Week in Milan. We are working on new (FABULOUS) designs for Happiness to present at Women’s Fashion Week, shipping out orders all over the World from the winter collection, starting to set things up for the up and coming My Closet Melrose, working with collaborations, PR, distributors, boutiques, photo shoots, updating catalogues… you name it… shit a ton is going on! It’s truly amazing. We could not be happier to be so involved within the fashion industry and working with so many wonderful people from all over the World. From buyers to end customers…. everyone is seriously awesome! It’s a really beautiful feeling. Anyway, back to work. Just wrote this post quickly during my little lunch break. P.S.- that’s our office, and it’s a fucking disaster at the moment!!!! aaaaahhh!!! SEE MORE PICTURES HERE »

American Apparel

The latest news (bad news however) on American Apparel inspired me to post my recent trip to the factory in Downtown L.A. Brand owner, Dov Charney, built American Apparel and made it a powerhouse just within seven years! It started off as a wholesale business and rapidly became a basic in every single trend setters closet. With vertically integrated retail stores all over the world they are now close to filing for bankruptcy. I have read articles that say “American Apparel is going down as a legendary brand failure.”  Some articles are titled “Death of the hipster.” So so sad. I hope they can somehow recover… although I have my little beliefs on them… like the quality is total shit, they overprice their pieces super duper high. Working in production, having a factory in Rimini, Italy… we see the fabrics, the cuts, what goes into production, how to make everything… and lets just say the markup on American Apparel items are FAT!!!! However, they are awesome & I love them. So I am sad to hear all this bankruptcy news… tear. SEE MORE PICTURES HERE »

Abbot Kinney.

One of my favorite streets in Los Angeles is the beautiful Abbot Kinney. I was introduced to this artistic street a few years ago when I worked with 944 Magazine and we held a huge event at photographer Steve Shaw’s house located right on Abbot Kinney. Ever since then it has been a street I have visited very often.  The street is filled with beautiful art galleries, cute high end boutiques, vintage shops, and the people are very much hippy and relaxed. It also holds one of my favorite pizza places EVER! It’s called The Abbot’s Pizza Company…. seriously AMAZING pizza!!! They have this spicy sauce to dip the pizza in… it is to die for! I usually get the salad pizza… it’s a must try! mmmmmm. SEE MORE PICTURES HERE »
